Tuzla impresses with its rich history and warm hospitality. The picturesque old town and the famous Pannonian Lakes, also known as the salt lakes, offer numerous opportunities for leisure and recreation. Tuzla owes its name to the Turkish word “tuz” for salt, which refers to the salt production that has been going on for centuries. In the course of salt mining, an artificial salt lake with a white pebble beach was created, which is unique in Europe. Beyond its natural attractions, Tuzla boasts a rich cultural heritage, with historical landmarks like the Salt Square and Austro-Hungarian architecture reflecting its diverse past.
